  V-Excel Educational Trust is validated by the Charities Aid Foundation (CAF) America. This credential provides validation that V-Excel Educational Trust is structured and operates as a nonprofit entity, that grant funds provided to the organization will be used exclusively for charitable purposes, and that the organization completed extensive reviews to guard against the risk of fraud, money laundering, or other illicit activities.

  The training division of V-Excel Educational Trust, a knowledge partner of Inkle Weave Educational Training Services Pvt. • V-Excel receives Rane Pioneer of Change Award

  November, 2018.

  The Rane Group, a Chennai-based company that manufactures auto components, on Saturday presented the Rane Pioneer of Change Award to a social organisation, V-Excel Educational Trust (V-Excel), stated an official release from the company. The award was presented to V-Excel for its outstanding contribution in making the lives of persons with disability better. The award comprised a medallion and a cash prize of Rs. 10 lakh.

• Inauguration of Anandam Learning Center

  Thursday August 9, 2018.

  V-Excel 10th Center :

  Inauguration of Anandam Learning Center, which is the 10th centre of V-Excel was held on Thursday August 9, 2018 at Anadam (Home for Senior Citizens), Ambattur, Chennai. The Resource centre at Anandam will provide remedial services for around 47 school going children coming from lower income families from the rural and semi urban areas who have been assessed with Learning Difficulties. These students are part of the larger group belonging from the lower income families in the surrounding semi urban areas. These students are provided after school supplementary education by the senior citizens residing at Anandam Home.

• MCCI CSR Awards 2018 for Project Thozhi

  V-Excel Educational Trust & Grundfos Pumps India Pvt Ltd. together bagged the MCCI CSR Awards 2018 for Project Thozhi - Production and Distribution of low-cost sanitary napkins as a vocational developmental opportunity for persons with special needs. MCCI CSR Awards is to recognise high impactful CSR Projects implemented collaboratively by Corporate and NGOs.

• Inauguration of Spice Space

  July 5, 2018.

  At YES (Youth Empowerment Services), we inaugurate 'Spice Space' - a spice grinding and packaging unit with the support of L&T Construction. We have started off with 'Molaga Podi' and 'Rice Upma Mix' and will offer a lot more in the future. And to add to the flavour, these products are done by individuals with special needs as part of their Vocational Training at V-Excel Educational Trust.

• Global Grant by Rotary Club Madras East(RCME) along with the Rotary Club of Romford and Rotary Club of Cataraqui-Kingston

  V-Excel Educational Trust was recently presented with the Global Grant by Rotary Club Madras East(RCME) along with the Rotary Club of Romford and Rotary Club of Cataraqui-Kingston. Through this Global Grant, Rotary has supported V-Excel, Empower Persons with Disabilities (PwDs), Enrich the vocational programmes and Enhance the infrastructure.

• V-Excel has now launched "Thozhi", a low-cost sanitary napkin project

  November, 2017.

  As part of its Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives, Grundfos Pumps India Pvt. Ltd. (Grundfos India), one of the largest manufacturers of energy-efficient pumps has been working with V-Excel Educational Trust, a Chennai-based public charitable trust to create livelihoods for differently-abled individuals. Grundfos supported V-Excel in establishing a sanitary pad making unit where these differently-abled trainees are trained and employed. The objective of this initiative is to produce low-cost sanitary pads, which are commercially viable. V-Excel has trained some of its autistic and intellectually challenged students to operate this unit. Through these efforts, V-Excel has now launched "Thozhi", a low-cost sanitary napkin project. Thozhi is made using fine and good quality raw materials.

  Inauguration of Outreach Remedial Center, held on September 17, 2017 at Pollachi. The Resource centre at Pollachi will provide remedial services for school going children coming from lower income families from the rural and semi urban areas who have been assessed with Learning Difficulties.

• MoU with Tech Mahindra Foundation

  February 20, 2017.

  In our ongoing quest to foster strategic CSR partnerships, we signed a Memorandum of Understanding today with Tech Mahindra Foundation to "provide education and skill-based training to teachers to enable them to effectively educate children with disabilities in different service programs".

  The MoU was signed at the Tech Mahindra premises in Sholinganallur, Chennai.

  V-Excel extended its association with Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan by inaugurating the BVB Centre on Thanikachalam Road, T. Nagar, Chennai where we will be offering services such as having a Parent Resource Centre and Counselling and Psychotherapy Services for the general public and Geriatric population.

  To commemorate World Autism Awareness Day, V-Excel launched a Café Samarth, a unique initiative aimed at converting our students' deep interest in cooking and hospitality into a possible livelihood opportunity for persons with Autism and other special needs.

  V-Excel Educational Trust and Wassup OnDemand joined hands under a Public-Private partnership program where V-Excel will use its understanding of Children with Special needs and Wassup will engage and train them with skills in the vocational space related to laundry and dry-cleaning.

• Partnership with Wipro Cares

  V-Excel has been working with Wipro Cares in implementing the Neev Intervention Program (NIP). This program is targeted at 2-10 year old children who come from underprivileged backgrounds, and are 'at risk' or have developmental delays/disabilities.

  V-Excel provides expert resources and works closely with schools for maximizing children's physical, cognitive, social and emotional development.

• Carnival 2015

  V-Excel's carnivals are events primarily held to raise community awareness of the disability sector and to provide a platform for education and advocacy. Carnival 2015 was in many ways a great success.

  V-Excel's work in the Rural Outreach Program (Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan) is seen as the one of the most effectively-run NGO programs.

• The Early Intervention program gains ground. The incidence of mainstreaming in schools at a young age boosts enrolments.

• Waldorf Principles

  V-Excel offers many short-term courses in Special Education. The ATE Diploma course is accredited by the Rehabilitation Council of India.

• Kaleidoscope Learning Center starts a conscious integration of Waldorf principles with conventional special education and witnesses encouraging outcomes.

  The demand for Workshops and Training for different target groups like teachers, parents, doctors and professionals increases signficantly as V-Excel's credibility is established firmly.

• Counseling & Assessments

  The Counseling and Assessments unit begins operations. It reaches internal clients and the larger community of corporate employees facing parenting and relationship issues.

• VTU & EI

  The Vocational Training Unit (VTU) is set up. It focuses on developing suitable employment opportunities for young adolescents with mental challenges.

• The Early Intervention (EI) program for children between 0-7 years having developmental delays is launched. It is intended to provide a proactive step for early remediation.

• ESVI Sarada Foundation

  V-Excel teams up with ESVI Sarada Foundation for using their premises for additional services such as Early Intervention and Rehabilitation.

• Operations move to a large space in Chennai to accommodate the growing number of children.

• BLA

  Bridges Learning Academy (BLA), a pull-out school program for slow learners and children with dyslexia, is initiated to address the serious concern of academically low-performing students.

• 2003
• SSA & VRC

  A young V-Excel is chosen by the Government of India to run the Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA) / Education for All - program in ten blocks of Villipuram district of Tamil Nadu.

• The V-Excel Remedial Center (VRC) is born out of a rising demand for supplemental teaching for school-going children with learning disabilities and children who were not admitted to regular schools.

• 2002
• ATE & KLC

  The Academy for Teaching Excellence (ATE) begins its first training program on methods used to teach children with Multiple Disabilities and Specific Learning Disabilities.

• Kaleidoscope Learning Center (KLC), our special school, is set up as a lab school for teachers. Children with conditions such as Autism, Mental Retardation and Attention Deficit Disorders are enrolled.

• The Birth

  Academic Concepts, Inc. is registered as a 501 (c)(3) not-for-profit organization in the USA.

• V-Excel Educational Trust is registered as a Public Charitable Trust and develops its vision and mission under the guidance of a sound founding team.

• Our Founder-Trustee, Dr. Vasudha Prakash, returns to India from the USA to set up a center for teacher training and special services.
