K. Nirmala Prasad, Ph.D.
Dr. Nirmala Prasad has been the Principal of the M.O.P. Vaishnav College for Women in Chennai since 1996. Prior to that, she was
a Professor and Founder Head of the Post-Graduate and Research Department of Commerce at the Ethiraj College for Women, Chennai.
Dr. Prasad is a reputed academician and has made several key contributions to the field of education. Among her areas of expertise
are innovations toward academic excellence, the formulation and development of educational policies, building global competencies,
women's empowerment and development issues, education industry interface and several social responsibility initiatives.
She has won several professional awards and serves in many academic committees at the state and national levels.
C.N. Ramdas, IAS
Mr. C.N. Ramdas is the Chairman of the GNG Group of Companies based in Chennai, India. He belonged to the Indian
Administrative Service (IAS) and retired as Secretary to Government of India, Ministry of Surface Transport advising
the Indian Government on policies pertaining to the development and administration of Major Ports, National Highways,
Shipping, Inland Water Transport and Lighthouses. He has spent nearly 35½ years in the Indian Administrative Service.
He was instrumental in amending the National Highways Act 1956 to enable the private sector to construct, maintain and
manage National Highways and Expressways. He shaped the privatization policy of major port facilities. He has made
presentations of the opportunities available in India for the privatization of Ports, National Highways and Inland
Waterways at London, Tokyo, Singapore and Bremen, Germany. He was the leader of the Indian delegation for the World Roads
Congress at Montreal, Canada and International Maritime Organization, London.
He held important positions of high responsibilities in the Government of Tamil Nadu also in the rank of Chief Secretary
in the realm of Revenue Administration, Land reforms and Sri Lanka refugees. He was also Chairman, State Industries Promotion
Corporation of Tamil Nadu and Director of Sugar. He was the Collector of Thanjavur district, the rice bowl of the South. He formed
the new district of Pudukkottai and became its first Collector.
He has been a successful Consultant / Adviser / Facilitator after retirement, associating himself with multi-national
corporations worldwide.
Dr. Prithika Chary, MD, DM, Ph.D., MCh
Dr. Prithika Chary is a Senior Consultant Neurologist Since 1978 and a Consultant Neurosurgeon (Chennai) as well since
1990 and continuing. She is the first and only lady in India to be qualified and practicing as both Neurophysician and
Neurosurgeon. Dr. Chary initiated comprehensive services for epilepsy in Chennai in 1994 by starting EPICENTRE (Epilepsy Institute
& Centre for Treatment, Training, Research & Education). She introduced the first video EEG service in the private sector in the
whole of South India in 1994. She is the only PhD guide in Apollo Hospital, Chennai where she has guided 4 students to date.
Dr. Chary has served as project consultant and completed Wellness Plus centre for integrative health at Apollo Sindoori
in 2003-4. She conceived, guided, strategised, planned, executed and completed Apollo Centre of Excellence for Women 2005-6 –
a standalone, multidisciplinary outpatient centre for women's health where she served as the Head of the centre till July 2008.
She has attended several conferences, presented papers, written and published articles, and given lectures all over the world.
Purushothaman Vaidyanathan
Mr. Purushothaman Vaidyanathan (Vaidy) serves as a Senior Commercial Specialist in India, He supports the U.S. Commercial
and investment policies toward India, provides reporting and analysis of the Indian market, reports the impact of Indian
trade policies on U.S. Exports, and maintains extensive senior level relationships with major multiplier organizations,
local governments, and business. counsels U.S. and Indian businessmen on market opportunities, business laws and practices;
plans, and organizes trade missions/commercial trade exhibitions, facilitates the visits of important USG officials to
India, conducts/contracts market research and studies.
He advises U.S. entities in major commercial disputes in bid evaluation and attends to trade complaints. Supports U.S.
exports by working with other USG agencies such as USAID, USAEP, U.S. EXIM Bank, USTDA, OPIC, ECON, ADB, SBA, and World
Bank. He is part of many important international teams - Project Financing, Infrastructure, Environment, Energy and Textile
teams.
Vaidy brings in over 10 years of private sector experience with specialization in industrial marketing and project
development. During the past 23 years of distinguished service with USG, Vaidy has worked with other USG agencies such
as USAID, USIA, and NTIS, prior to joining CS. Vaidy is a graduate in science and has specialized in Industrial
marketing, and project development.
